Shatabdi Public School, a Senior Secondary School, affiliated to CBSE; Delhi is running under the Shatabdi Foundation, Gaya. It is located in the peaceful area of the city about 3 kms in the West of the Railway Junction. The four splendid buildings with well-ventilated classrooms, modern laboratories, well-furbished library and computer lab make it an ideal place for learning and growth. The trees along the boundary wall and a garden make the campus pollution free.
Started in 2001, the school has been progressing by leaps and bounds and has earned fame because of its quality education and plural approach. At present it is imparting education to around 1400 students who come from different sections of the society. The school lays emphasis on the education of girls, as it is evident from their percentage, which is approximately 40% of the total number of students.
Admission is open to all without any discrimination of caste, creed and religion. A large number of students come from neighbouring rural area and the conveyance facility is provided to them.
The school strictly follows the rules and regulations laid down by CBSE. All the co-curricular activities are conducted through House System, which includes songs, debates, speeches, poem recitations, drawings, paintings etc. Important occasions like Gandhi Jayanti, Independence Day, Republic Day, Teacher’s Day, and Children’s Day etc are celebrated with great fervour. Games and Sports are organised at frequent intervals to inculcate a sense of discipline among students as well as to keep them physically fit.
The school has been doing various things for the welfare of the society. Students are awarded merit cum poverty scholarship and people of the neighbouring areas are helped in different ways. Thus, the school is playing active role in promoting National Integration, which is a big challenge for the new millennium.
