General Curriculum
The syllabus is designed to give an insight into the change and development through which human societies have evolved. Children can appreciate the contributions made by various cultures to the total heritage of mankind. It helps to foster the understanding that mutual interaction of various cultures has been a major factor in human progress. Emphasis is given on the basic unity of mankind. It facilitates the study of the history of specific countries and regions. Aims at creating an urge among students for effective participation in community affairs. CURRICULUM
The curriculum of the pre-primary focuses on developing skills in the areas of Motor Control, English language and Communication, Social and Emotional Development. The subjects of English, Mathematics and General Knowledge are introduced. They are supported by regular activities in the workshop, art and craft, sports and music.
Middle School (Std. I to Std. IV)
At the primary level the curriculum strengthens the developmental skills which are fortified through the four languages pattern of English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu, and General Science, Social Studies and Mathematics. Moral Values are instilled through Moral Science/Islamic Studies. The overall development, interests and talents are fostered through an inter-disciplinary approach and activities of Art Education, Work Experience, Physical and Health Education and a Reading Program.

Making an Impression
The critical thinking programme which commences from Std. V enables the children to grasp the more difficult aspects of classroom teaching by helping them to think laterally. This also prepares the students to deal with a more international level of education helping them to adapt to all other universities and the competitive level of excellence. This phase concludes with the All Indian Secondary School Examinations.

Designed to develop students’ communicative and linguistic competence. The content selection has been determined by the students’ present as well as future academic and social needs. Formulated to train the children to think, reason, analyse and articulate logically. Aimed at helping them to acquire knowledge and understanding of the terms symbols, concepts, principles, process, proofs etc. The children learn to apply mathematical knowledge and skills to solve real-life mathematical problems; to develop mastery of algebraic and geometric skills and the ability to use mathematical tables as aids for computational work. Provides them the scope to participate in mathematical competitions and club activities in and outside the school.
General Science
Primarily directed towards the development of problem solving and decision making skills on the basis of the knowledge of key concepts which cut across all disciplines of science. Helps them to appreciate the contributions of scientists and develop science; to develop a concern for a clean environment and preservation of the ecosystem; motivates them to take up higher studies in Science, vocation or professions. Though these are more intensive years, formative and impressionable, leading to the All India Senior School Certificate Examinations, SPS leaves no stone unturned in guiding, sometimes confused, teenagers to the right career. Numerous practical in labs, seminars and workshops help the students to choose the right path.
English
Designed to help students acquire competence in English so that they can use the language: as a means for self-expression in real life situations and as a resource for studying vocational courses in many different fields such as medicine and engineering. Objectives: To acquire reading and writing skills including summarizing, abstracting, note making; the art of learning to learn, that is, the ability to cope with English for further education; an active vocabulary of 2,500 common words, and a passive vocabulary of another 1,500 words; interest in listening to English speech and in reading varied materials in English.
Mathematics
Objectives: Creative work in mathematics; to create confidence in equipping themselves with the skills needed for the branches of science (physical or social) or humanities in which they have an aptitude for higher studies.
Strategy: Focusing attention on ‘problem solving’ in the liberal sense. Nurturing the higher order mental processes of logical reasoning with stress on rigour and precision, development of concepts, language etc. Introducing non-traditional techniques inclusive of audio-visual aids, viz. films, video-films, computer-aided instruction etc. to supplement classroom teaching.
Physics
Objectives: To develop competence to pursue science based professional courses like engineering and medicine Gain knowledge, understanding and application abilities about different aspects of Physics. Strengthen foundation for further study of Physics. Develop an interest in study of Physics as a discipline. Acquire necessary manipulative and experimental skills.
Chemistry
Objectives: To strengthen the concepts developed at the secondary level and develop new concepts to provide a sound background for higher studies in chemistry. Develop competence in students to pursue science based professional courses like engineering and medicine in future career. To provide relevant content materials useful for vocational courses. To develop manipulative and experimental skills in students necessary for investigation of the materials in their environment.

Objectives: To explain basic concepts of Biology. To enlighten an individual about his place in universe. Increase the awareness of problems of the environment and identify measures to overcome them, To understand Biology for rational living – removal of biases (sex, race, etc.) and correctiveness to superstition. To create awareness in which new knowledge is emerging to provide the innate excitement of the subject. Economics
Objectives: To help understand the existing economic institutions in India in their historical perspective. To understand the structure of Indian economy and the changes it is undergoing. Business Studies
Objectives: To develop in the student an interest in the theory and practice in business, trade and industry. To acquaint students with the theoretical foundations and practice of organizing, managing and handling routine operations of a business firm.To inculcate attitudes and values leading to the integration of business with the social system with a positive approach.
Accountancy
Objectives: To impart knowledge of method considered useful in maintaining records of proprietary and partnership firms, companies and non-trading organization. To generate and promote awareness of students in modern techniques of maintaining accounting records with the help of computers.
Multimedia and Web Technology
Objectives: To acquire basic knowledge of Information Technology. To learn information processing tools and techniques.
